The Curtis Studio is a full-time string-instruction studio in downtown Newburyport. 

Offering private, one-on-one teaching of acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, and bass guitar, the studio accepts motivated students at any level. Instruction in songwriting, music theory and composition is also available. Lessons are tailored to each student, focusing on personal goals and abilities.

Studio head, John Curtis, has been a professional musician for more than 30 years. A founding member of the Pousette-Dart Band, John brings a wealth of experience performing and recording throughout the U.S., having worked with or taught many performers including Patty Griffin, Livingston Taylor, Joe Perry/Aerosmith, Jimmy Buffet, Yes, Orleans, Little Feat and Robert Palmer.

Soundtrack and promotional recording has been completed for Ken Burns documentaries, PBS television, as well as many advertising agencies worldwide.
